Refinishing Emmy's Toy Box

Hi everyone!  Not to long ago I went on a errand and I ran across a garage sale on my way back and found this wonderful toy box. I thought this toy box would be wonderful for my granddaughter, Emerson so I bought for next to nothing!  I have to say that it was a little run down not to say dirty too.  So, I put it aside and wrote it down on my "To Do" list for one of those days I had nothing to do.  Well, a couple of weekends ago, it hit me to get on it.

So I gathered my tools (sander, sanding paper, cleaning stuff to clean, breathing mask, polyurethane and a brush) and began working on it in order to turn this neglected toy box into a jewel.
After cleaning the toy box really good, I sand it and cleaned the sanding dust and proceeded to paint on the clear polyurethane.
Doesn't look bad from afar but...

Here it is up close.

It was dirty inside the toy box.

Even along the bottom of the toy box was dirty.

Here are my materials I used.
Here I go to sanding the toy box with my sander.  I love my sander!

Two coats of polyurethane did it for a finish like new.

Here is the finished product!  Not bad if I should say so myself.  This is a level 1 restoration project.  So easy anyone can do it!

Until next time my Friends!
Christina :)
